The DreamShaadi 2005 Expo/ Pageant held at the Hilton McLean in McLean , VA on February 20, 2005 was a stupendous success. The Expo featured a variety of vendors who marketed their goods and services to the entire South Asian community of the Washington metropolitan region. The DreamShaadi Pageant featured dances and performances from local artists, an extravagant fashion show put on by Chaubara-The Marketplace , and contests for a new cover girl, a new couple, and a new child to be showcased in the 2005 guide. All of the participants showed remarkable elegance and grace while competing for several of our dynamic prizes: Tickets to Las Vegas with a companion, dinner cruise for two on the Potomac River, $400 dollars worth of complimentary catering, a weekend stay at an upscale hotel in the Washington area, massage and spa therapy at a local resort, and various gift certificates from local retailers. In addition to the competition, several raffle prizes were given to those in attendance, and the grand prize included a ticket to India . We look forward to holding the 2006 DreamShaadi Expo/Pageant and encourage those in the area to participate in the event as a competitor or vendor.
